My writing plan for the month of March
I’ve been pretty inconsistent with my writing over the last year. I’ve had spurts of high productivity and months where I was silent.
It’s not that I didn’t have anything to say; it’s just life can get too busy sometimes. But, I’ve decided to hold myself accountable. I’ve been writing pretty steadily for two weeks straight. I’ve published five articles a week so far.
Since I’ve been proud of my regular posting, I decided to challenge myself. I will continue the month of February as my test run, but I hope to…
Three strong examples of successful personal branding
Personal branding is the impression and feeling you will leave your audience with. Having a strong and impactful personal brand will shape your identity from those impressions.
According to HubSpot, “brand identity is made up of what your brand says, what your values are, how you communicate your product, and what you want people to feel when they interact with it. Essentially, your brand identity is the personality of your business and a promise to your customers.”

Would you rather land your dream job that you’ll love or watch someone else achieve their career dreams?
Of course, you’re going to say you want to be working in your dream job (unless that someone else is a good friend you want to cheer on). Why, though?

For me, that person is my mother. In the beginning, her sacrifice was with her body. She was growing her children in the womb and bringing them into this world. Making sure they were cared for and loved. Motherhood was a role she flourished in, a complete nurturing package.
She has always has had a fantastic ability to listen. She never tries to…
His explanation of his trip actually makes things worse
I've let myself sit and absorb the recent news of United States Senator Ted Cruz, traveling to Cancun, Mexico, while his home state of Texas is in despair from the winter storms that have caused massive power outages and water shortages, I find myself full of anger.
While Texans have had to deal with damage to their homes, surviving frigid temperatures, and even death, I can’t believe Cruz thought it would be appropriate to hop a plane with his family to a nice warm climate while his constituents suffer.
Your brand will benefit from an organized social media strategy
In times of crisis, having an open line of communication is crucial for sharing essential pieces of timely information that needs to reach your audience. It’s also vital for maintaining transparency during uncertain times.
One of the easiest ways to get important pieces of information out to a large audience in a short amount of time is through social media channels. It’s essential that if you decide to use social media for significant messages to develop guidelines for any public-facing communications.

Tell-tale signs that will tell you it’s time to quit your job
I think it’s safe to say we’ve all had a job we hated. Whether you don’t feel appreciated or hate the work you’re doing, it’s one of the most defeating feelings.
Here are some tell-tale signs for how to know when it’s time to quit your job:
Many places of employment will offer one-on-one quarterly or annual reviews. This is a great time to get feedback from your employer on your job performance. What you’re doing well with and what you need to improve.
This is also a…
Writer’s naturally tend to question their confidence. Questions about myself always flow through my mind. Am I good enough? Do I have a story to tell that’s worthy? It’s a never-ending cycle.
Medium was a God-send of a platform for writers. It created an amazing community where writers could do what they do and support other writers.
I’ve been blessed to have pieces run in some of the biggest publications on the Medium platform, but I’ve never come across a publication that was as supportive of my writing journey as ILLUMINATION has been.
